Follow the editor tools, customization options, overlay exports and fixes added to the PADCRAFT configurator.
2.71
Version 2.71
Image stacking order
Each image in Elements now has Bring forward and Send backward buttons.
The list is shown from front to back, so the image at the top sits above the others.
The order is kept in the shop, on product pages and in OBS. Existing links are unchanged.
Reference panel
A new Reference tab opens any image in a panel next to your controller while you design.
The image stays on your device. It is never uploaded or added to your overlay.
On phones, the panel opens at the bottom of the screen.
Clearer controls
The layer menu of each image now shows its full name.
The settings rail fits shorter laptop screens without hiding the last tabs.
The Borealis animation plays more smoothly on phones in the shop and on the home page.
2.70
Version 2.70
Elements follow the controller shape
Images, videos and free texts placed partly outside the controller are now cut cleanly along its real outline, including triggers and bumpers.
Elements set to Behind controller stay free, so halos and backgrounds around the controller still work.
The same result appears in the configurator, the shop, product pages and OBS.
Full plasma colour
The Animation colour of a text now tints the entire Electric plasma effect, not only its lightning.
Designs you already own keep their original colours.
2.68
Version 2.68
Interactive product demos
Clicking a controller on its product page now plays a short demonstration using the real Padcraft renderer.
Buttons, D-pad directions, triggers and both joysticks move while preserving the exact design being viewed.
The demo is responsive, keyboard accessible and waits until the preview is ready before accepting input.
Safe and lightweight
No generic video or extra media download is required.
Bundles keep their dedicated preview, and existing customer links remain unchanged.
Consistent neon colours
The selected neon hue now remains dominant while core brightness, edge glow and contrast are adjusted.
Pressed buttons keep the same neon hue when Auto invert is enabled.
The fix is shared by the configurator, previews and OBS rendering.
2.67
Version 2.67
Advanced neon controls
Neon button textures now include adjustable white core, edge glow and dark contrast.
An Electric violet preset recreates a crisp arcade-style purple finish in one click.
Face buttons, the full D-pad and both joysticks can each be edited as a group.
Custom animation uploads
Custom WebM animation uploads work again for Premium and Creator members.
Existing designs and generated overlay links remain unchanged.
2.66
Version 2.66
Neon controller effects
Light strips now include a recolourable Neon Pulse with a smooth native animation on browsers, mobile devices and OBS.
Buttons and joysticks can use a contained Neon finish with adjustable colour and intensity.
Both joysticks can be edited together or customized independently.
Reliable rendering
Neon effects stay inside the calibrated controller parts and avoid rectangular filter artifacts.
Existing designs and previously generated overlay links remain compatible and unchanged.
2.65
Version 2.65
Clearer link checkout
Creating or signing in to an account now comes before the overlay-link checkout.
Your unfinished controller design stays in the same tab while you verify your account.
After signing in, Generate link opens the familiar details panel before the secure payment review.
Existing purchases, OBS links and included design changes remain unchanged.
2.64
Version 2.64
More reliable controller rendering
Controller models now use their calibrated images only. Missing base images no longer show an unrelated fallback controller.
Rapid model changes keep the latest selection, without colours left over from an older request.
Previous duotone colours are cleared when loading another design. Controller and button halos have been retired; light strips remain available.
Replaced animations release their video resources. Opacity adjustments keep the current video player.
Lighter previews
Black/white base variants are retired. Each model uses its own published background; PS5 White and PS5 Black remain separate models.
Up to two visible controller previews animate on desktop and one on mobile. Hover or focus a card to give it priority.
Other cards keep their controller preview without the main animation. Off-screen previews and hidden tabs stop animating; effects restart when selected again.
OBS playback quality and existing link addresses are unchanged. Reload your browser source to load the updated renderer.
2.63
Version 2.63
Refined effects
Rain now starts at a restrained 35% opacity.
Light strips are reduced to Liquid Flow and Steady Line; Liquid Flow can use any colour.
Older strip effects remain compatible with existing saved and purchased designs.
2.62
Version 2.62
Consistent controller sizing
PS5 White now uses its measured silhouette instead of the full source image.
PS5, PS4 and Xbox previews share the same visual scale in the configurator and shop.
2.61
Version 2.61
Cleaner model switcher
Controller names are now short and readable, with no technical model identifiers.
The previous and next arrows remain perfectly aligned while switching models.
2.60
Version 2.60
Link checkout preview
The confirmation page now renders the real live overlay instead of a fragile static capture.
The Generate button stays price-free and shows how many overlays the account has already created.
2.59
Version 2.59
All creative tools unlocked
Every account can now use effects, textures, custom elements, fonts, light strips and animations.
Standard accounts pay only when publishing a link. Premium and Creator keep their included-link and account benefits.
2.58
Version 2.58
Clearer link checkout
Standard accounts now review their design and one-time price on a dedicated page before opening Stripe.
After payment, the new OBS link appears immediately in Configure my purchases, ready to copy.
2.57
Version 2.57
Standard link checkout
Standard accounts can create a permanent overlay link for a one-time $1.99 payment.
Premium, Creator, partner and organization link allowances are unchanged.
Stripe payment is verified securely before the overlay link is created.
2.56
Version 2.56
Local base image
Each shell zone can now use the controller's original reference image instead of a custom colour.
The change stays limited to the selected zone and leaves the main shell colour and every other region untouched.
2.55
Version 2.55
Independent shell zones
Changing Grip interior on the Full White PS5 model now affects only the centre region.
The main shell colour and every other part remain unchanged when a local shell colour is added or removed.
2.54
Version 2.54
Isolated shell regions
Changing one local shell region now paints only its calibrated contour.
Rectangular colour artifacts no longer appear across adjacent regions on white PS5 models.
2.53
Version 2.53
Original shell image
Shell colour now includes a clear Base image option that restores the untouched artwork of the selected controller model.
Independent custom parts
Imported part artwork no longer inherits colour and texture effects from the shell.
2.52
Version 2.52
Faster colour editing
Idle and Pressed are now always available from a compact toolbar at the top of Colors.
Blend mode follows the selected controller part and uses one clear menu instead of repeated button grids. Auto invert is available from the same toolbar.
2.51
Version 2.51
Contour comet text animation
A new Premium Contour comet sends a bright head and long soft trail across the actual outline of custom text without covering its texture.
Its colour, intensity and loop duration use the existing animation controls and remain consistent in configurator previews and OBS overlays.
2.50
Version 2.50
Oxanium esport font
Oxanium is now available for custom text and usernames, providing a wider geometric style suited to competitive and metallic controller designs.
The same 500 and 700 weights are loaded in both the configurator and generated OBS overlays for consistent rendering.
2.49
Version 2.49
Full-resolution element preview
Images added in Elements now render from the original imported file immediately in the configurator, without a 128 px intermediate canvas.
The file-size safeguards remain active, and generated links continue to externalize media to the CDN for efficient OBS delivery.
2.47
Version 2.47
Custom pressed artwork
Custom part styles now switch completely from their Idle image to their Pressed image while the replaced button is held, including controls such as the Home/PS button that have no separate pressed artwork by default.
Releasing the control restores the Idle image, and removing the custom style restores the original model behaviour.
2.46
Version 2.46
Premium Gold motion
Gold strips now use one dominant highlight and two subtler secondary comets with irregular spacing, different speeds and smoother seven-stage trails.
The moving bloom can extend naturally beyond the calibrated line instead of being clipped away, while the fixed gold material gains a restrained metallic breathing effect.
2.45
Version 2.45
Independent texture controls
Every shell-zone texture now has its own blend mode: Normal, Multiply, Screen, Overlay or Soft light.
Texture intensity is now displayed as a clearly labelled independent slider, separate from the base colour's opacity and blend mode.
2.44
Version 2.44
Photographic brushed silver
The reference silver preset now uses a dedicated lightweight photographic metal surface with clearly visible horizontal grain and broad premium reflections.
Original shell depth is blended back over the metal so seams and moulded details remain sharp without making the finish look like gray plastic.
2.43
Version 2.43
Realistic brushed-silver relief
The reference silver preset now preserves the controller's original shadows, seams and moulded volume instead of covering them with a flat white layer.
A dedicated realistic brushed-silver finish adds fine horizontal grain and controlled metallic reflections to both the center and touchpad panels.
2.42
Version 2.42
Independent center-panel finish
Calibrated shell regions are now available as a Premium configurator tool with clear Center panel, Touchpad panel, Left grip and Right grip labels.
A new reference silver preset instantly gives the PS5 center and touchpad a light brushed-metal finish matching the supplied model, while every region remains independently adjustable.
2.41
Version 2.41
Longer, smoother gold trails
The three Gold highlights now leave much longer six-stage trails, fading smoothly across up to 68% of each path and moving with more deliberate metallic inertia.
2.40
Version 2.40
Premium gold light strips
Gold strips now carry a maximum of three smoothly looping highlights per band. Each highlight has a bright polished head and a long layered trail that fades naturally into a richer metallic-gold base.
2.38
Version 2.38
Custom part restoration
Removing a custom button style now restores the exact original button image, dimensions and calibrated position for the current controller model, including the Home/PS button.
2.37
Version 2.37
Scratched steel photo
Shell zones can now use the supplied real scratched-steel photograph as a lightweight WebP texture, combined with a light silver base, adjustable strength and polished reflections.
2.36
Version 2.36
Polished silver plate
The riveted panel option has been replaced by a clean, very light silver-metal finish with subtle horizontal grain and bright polished reflections.
2.34
Version 2.34
Brighter metal colours
Metal highlights now preserve the selected hue instead of darkening saturated colours, with a stronger base on dark touchpads so colour changes remain clearly visible.
2.33
Version 2.33
Immediate texture colour controls
Selecting Metal or Gold now immediately unlocks its colour picker and intensity control in Effects, without switching to another button first.
2.32
Version 2.32
Metal button texture
Premium users can now apply a fine directional metal texture to individual controller buttons from Effects, with independent Idle and Pressed colours and intensity.
2.31
Version 2.31
Premium metal finishes
Shell zones now offer brushed, satin and cross-brushed metal finishes with finer grain, directional highlights, adjustable strength and six ready-to-use metal tones.
2.30
Version 2.30
Scratched-metal shell texture
Each calibrated shell zone can now receive an adjustable scratched-metal finish that preserves its selected colour and the controller's original surface relief.
2.29
Version 2.29
Stronger shell-zone tint
Tint now produces a clearly visible colour at full intensity on dark shell zones such as the joystick surrounds, while retaining the controller’s shadows and surface relief.
2.28
Version 2.28
Light-strip layer order
Active light-strip groups can now be moved above or below one another from the configurator. The chosen stack is saved in the design and rendered identically in previews and OBS.
2.24
Version 2.24
Custom Gold texture controls
Premium members can now choose the Gold texture colour and intensity for each controller part, independently for Idle and Pressed. The settings are saved with the design and carried into generated OBS links.
2.23
Version 2.23
Gold button texture
Premium members can now apply a subtle metallic Gold texture to an individual controller part from Effects, independently for Idle and Pressed. The material is preserved in generated OBS links.
2.22
Version 2.22
Original action availability
The Original action now appears immediately on every modified controller part and remains available when that part follows the shell colour.
2.21
Version 2.21
Restore original button artwork
Every controller part now has an Original action for Idle and Pressed. It removes that state’s colour and blend customisation without clearing the rest of the design.
2.20
Version 2.20
Precise D-pad colours
D-pad colour channels now match their labels: Background controls the key and Arrow controls the symbol. Changing only the arrow preserves the original black texture instead of tinting the entire key.
2.19
Version 2.19
Reliable shop previews
Controller artwork is now embedded into the exported thumbnail before rasterization. Remote masks and button assets can no longer turn into oversized square fragments in shop or checkout previews.
2.18
Version 2.18
Paste images into Elements
When the Elements tab is open, an image copied to the system clipboard can now be placed directly on the controller with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V. It is resized, keeps transparency, appears selected in front of the buttons and is immediately ready to move, resize or rotate.
2.17
Version 2.17
Independent button blending
Idle and Pressed colours now keep separate blend modes. Switching either state no longer changes the other, and the selected mode follows the real controller input in previews and OBS.
2.16
Version 2.16
Faster model loading
Controller models now load their optimized calibration from the CDN only when needed. Embedded model images are cached separately, making the configurator and previews lighter to open and faster to revisit.
2.15
Version 2.15
Text animation cleanup
Light sweep is now the only looping text animation. Soft float, Breathe and Gentle sway have been removed, and older designs using them fall back to static text.
2.14
Version 2.14
Pressed-state preview
The global Pressed editor state now previews every controller input as pressed. Holding a part directly on the controller temporarily previews that one input and restores the selected global state on release.
2.13
Version 2.13
Trigger layers
Trigger blend modes now affect the colour layer without blending away the underlying artwork, keeping custom trigger images visible through every analogue position.
2.12
Version 2.12
Premium light sweep
Light sweep now lives with premium loop animations. Its colour, intensity and duration can be adjusted independently and are preserved in saved designs, previews and OBS links.
2.11
Version 2.11
Names and button blending
Four expressive display fonts make streamer names feel more distinctive: condensed, futuristic, comic and handwritten.
Every controller-part group now has a central blend-mode control for Normal, Multiply, Screen, Overlay or Color. The choice is saved and rendered in previews and OBS.
2.10
Version 2.10
Text finish and light
Gold now lives under a dedicated Texture setting instead of Colour. A new Light sweep effect sends a restrained reflection across any text, including textured gold.
2.9
Version 2.9
Gold finish
Gold is now a reversible metallic finish with a soft gradient and subtle texture instead of a flat text colour. The original colour remains available underneath.
2.8
Version 2.8
Premium text motion
Eligible plans can give text a subtle looping float, breathing or sway animation. Motion is preserved in saved designs, previews and OBS links.
2.7
Version 2.7
Text tools
Text zones now include a one-click gold colour and an independent colour picker for shadows, outlines and glows.
2.5
Version 2.5
New
A Settings tab gathers how the controller reacts on screen: stick travel, dead zones and trigger fill. None of it changes what your game receives.
Trigger fill: L2 and R2 fill from the bottom up while held instead of switching colour at once, so how far the gauge has filled shows for how long you held it. Worth turning on for mechanical games where trigger timing is the skill, Rocket League and the like. The time to fill is adjustable.
Dead zones now have a Min and a Max, set separately for each stick. Min ignores the drift of a worn stick at rest; Max treats it as fully pushed before it reaches its stops.
A live input panel reads your controller as you press it: stick and trigger levels, and a chip per button. Its values are raw, so you can rest a stick to read its drift and pick a Min, or push it fully to read its peak and pick a Max.
Improved
Purchased overlays get the same dead zones in Configure my purchases, replacing Drift protection, along with their own trigger fill setting.
Any dead zone value saved before this update is kept and read as the low threshold on both sticks.
Fixed and polished
Drift protection was saved but never applied to the overlay. It now does what it always said it did.
Trigger fill showed nothing at all on a design whose triggers had no colour of their own. The default photo-negative feedback is now revealed by the gauge like any other fill.
2.4
Version 2.4
Community
The X shortcut is now labelled “Suggest” so users know where to send improvement ideas.
2.3
Version 2.3
Community
The configurator provides direct shortcuts to rate Padcraft on Trustpilot and contact Padcraft on X.
2.2
Version 2.2
Feedback
Added unobtrusive community shortcuts at the bottom of the tool rail.
2.1
Version 2.1
New configurator
A redesigned workspace makes controller settings easier to browse while keeping the live preview and OBS export close at hand.
Custom part styles, richer text controls, custom fonts, shell blend modes and editing history provide more precise design control.
Custom part and font uploads are available with an eligible plan; Standard accounts see a direct free-trial action.
1.64
Version 1.64
Improved
Standard OBS links now show the mandatory PADCRAFT support animation after 30 seconds without controller input, while eligible purchased overlays retain their own optional support-animation setting.
1.63
Version 1.63
Fixed and polished
Configurator drafts are now isolated per account and cleared on logout, preventing a previous user's locally saved design from appearing after an account switch.
1.61
Version 1.61
Improved
The Creator trial now remains free for the full 30 days with 10 generated links included. Reaching the limit never charges the saved card: starting the paid plan early requires an explicit click in the configurator.
1.60
Version 1.60
Improved
Creator trials gained a 10-new-link usage allowance. Paid Creator accounts remain unlimited over time with a 30-new-links-per-24-hours fair-use safeguard; regenerating an existing link never counts.
1.59
Version 1.59
Fixed and polished
The controller now remains fully visible when the PADCRAFT support animation appears after 30 seconds of inactivity, including when Auto-hide is configured.
1.58
Version 1.58
Improved
Removed the idle-animation control from the configurator. Standard OBS links now include the PADCRAFT support animation automatically after 30 seconds without controller input. Premium, Creator, Partner and Organization purchases can optionally enable it from Configure my purchases; it remains off by default.
1.57
Version 1.57
Fixed and polished
The main configurator now actively blocks and removes idle-watermark containers, including stale ones injected by a cached script. The animation remains exclusive to authorized final OBS links.
1.56
Version 1.56
Fixed and polished
The idle watermark is rendered only by final OBS links: mandatory for Standard free accounts, optional and off by default for Premium, Creator, Partner and Organization accounts.
1.55
Version 1.55
Fixed and polished
Per-model idle-animation placement now uses the controller SVG coordinate system, so the animation lands exactly where intended in the generated 520×300 OBS link.
1.54
Version 1.54
Fixed and polished
The idle animation is no longer automatic or exposed in purchase settings. It is now an optional, off-by-default choice shown only in the final OBS-link generation block.
1.53
Version 1.53
New
Introduced the watermark-free controller idle animation, placed precisely for each controller model.
1.52
Version 1.52
New
Generated overlay links now save a faithful controller preview, making each link easier to identify in your account.
1.51
Version 1.51
Fixed and polished
The Xbox controller disconnected animation now has a transparent background, so it blends cleanly into overlays instead of displaying a black square.
1.50
Version 1.50
Fixed and polished
Configurator upgrade prompts are compact again: their original descriptions and layout remain unchanged, while the Creator submission and paid feature actions simply highlight the available free trial.
1.49
Version 1.49
New
Subscription prompts now lead with what creators gain: a 30-day Creator trial, 80% of each sale, a dedicated product page, and clearer Premium benefits for Elements and Animations.
Every locked tool now offers a direct upgrade action plus an honest free-account path. The monthly amount and cancellation details remain visible before clicking.
1.39
Version 1.39
Fixed and polished
Submitted designs now preserve idle colours for D-pad directions, joysticks, the Home button, touchpad and face buttons—even when only one colour channel was customized. Submission previews, review pages, the shop and live overlays now render the same colours as the configurator.
1.38
Version 1.38
Fixed and polished
Complex designs with background images, custom elements or embedded fonts can now move reliably from the configurator to the shop submission page without triggering the “design is too large” error.
1.37
Version 1.37
Fixed and polished
Button, bumper and trigger colours now fully lead their appearance while retaining a subtle amount of the original texture for physical relief. Controller shell colours and background images keep their separate material-based treatment.
1.36
Version 1.36
New
Text zones now accept imported WOFF2, WOFF, TTF and OTF fonts up to 500 KB. The selected font is embedded in the design so it renders consistently in saved designs, shop previews, exported thumbnails and OBS without being installed on the viewer's device.
1.35
Version 1.35
New
Background images can now be rotated freely from 0° to 360° in the crop editor. The preview updates live and automatically keeps the image large enough to cover the controller shell.
1.34
Version 1.34
Fixed and polished
Transparent background images now sit on top of the original controller shell instead of replacing its transparent areas. The controller silhouette, handles, buttons and native relief remain visible while the artwork is applied to the shell.
1.33
Version 1.33
Fixed and polished
Generated OBS links now use a short stable reference instead of embedding the full design in the URL. Designs with custom images, text and animations no longer fail with “URL too long” or open as an empty overlay.
1.32
Version 1.32
New
The configurator now includes a Text tab with up to 10 draggable, three-line text zones. Choose from four fonts, adjust size and color, set alignment and weight, and add a shadow, outline or glow.
Fixed and polished
Custom text is retained in saved designs and generated links, and renders consistently in shop previews, review pages and OBS.
1.31
Version 1.31
Improved
A selected custom image can now be removed immediately with Delete or Backspace, copied with Ctrl+C, cut with Ctrl+X, and pasted with Ctrl+V. Pasted images appear slightly offset for easy repositioning, while text fields keep their normal keyboard behavior.
1.30
Version 1.30
New
Premium and Creator members can upload a personal WebM body animation directly from Animations. Files are checked before upload: 5 MB maximum and 10 seconds maximum, with transparent backgrounds and seamless loops recommended.
Improved
Clicking outside a custom image now deselects it and closes its transform frame.
Fixed and polished
Generated overlay links now request the latest animation engine, preventing Rain and other body effects from failing because an older engine remained cached.
1.29
Version 1.29
New
Custom images now use a familiar editor frame: drag the image or its frame to move it, drag any corner to resize it proportionally, and use the top handle to rotate it freely.
Fixed and polished
Editor outlines and transform handles stay inside the configurator and are automatically removed from shop thumbnails, product previews and OBS output.
Image size and rotation are retained in saved designs and rendered consistently everywhere the overlay appears.
1.28
Version 1.28
New
Elements now supports up to 10 custom images on one controller. Drag each image directly on the preview and choose whether it sits in front of the buttons, behind the buttons, or behind the entire controller.
Improved
The image workflow is simpler: position and size sliders have been removed in favor of direct placement on the controller.
Transparent PNG artwork is now preserved during optimization, and the uploader clearly recommends transparent backgrounds for logos and graphics.
Fixed and polished
Custom Elements now carry through saved designs, shop previews, product pages, creator review and OBS overlays with the correct layer order.
1.27
Version 1.27
Fixed and polished
Animated body effects now actually show on the touchpad — the color was already reaching it, but the touchpad's own surface was still drawn on top and hiding it completely.
1.26
Version 1.26
Fixed and polished
Two-tone colored buttons no longer turn fully invisible at low intensity — a leftover setting was fading out the whole button image on top of the color blend.
Stick color tinting no longer washes out a custom stick style picked in Part styles — a chosen style now always shows at full color, untouched by the tint.
1.25
Version 1.25
Improved
Left and right stick styles now share a single picker by default — pick once and both update together, with an option to give them different styles.
Face button color pickers now default to the button's actual look (black background, white symbol) instead of unrelated brand colors.
1.24
Version 1.24
Fixed and polished
Two-tone buttons (sticks, face buttons, D-pad, PS) now apply as soon as one color is picked, instead of requiring both before anything shows.
The intensity slider on two-tone buttons now actually fades between the original artwork and a fully solid color, instead of always applying at full strength regardless of the slider.
A freshly picked color now starts at a softer intensity instead of instantly hiding the button's original texture.
1.23
Version 1.23
Improved
Animated body effects now cover the touchpad too by default, not just the shell — with no extra performance cost.
1.22
Version 1.22
Fixed and polished
Generated overlay links now carry alternate part styles and animated body effects through to OBS — they previously got silently dropped from the exported link.
1.21
Version 1.21
Fixed and polished
Animated body effects now loop cleanly every 10 seconds instead of playing out their full source length before restarting.
1.20
Version 1.20
New
The Animation tab is live: pick any published animated body effect directly from its own tab in the configurator.
1.19
Version 1.19
Fixed and polished
Custom background photos uploaded on Xbox and PS4 controllers no longer get cropped incorrectly — the crop area now matches each controller's real shape instead of silently falling back to the full image.
1.18
Version 1.18
New
Animated body effects: pick a look such as rain, snow or particles and it follows the exact shape of your controller, in the configurator and in your OBS overlay.
Alternate part styles: choose a different visual for individual parts, each positioned for the controller you are using.
Body effect playback speed: slow down or speed up an animated effect, alongside its opacity, right in the configurator.
Fixed and polished
Alternate part visuals now return to their original size and position when switched back, instead of keeping the previous one's dimensions.
1.17
Version 1.17
New
Public access to the controller overlay configurator with a visible development notice.
Fixed and polished
Controller previews now preserve the full product image instead of cropping triggers.
Version tracking starts with 1.17. Earlier changes were developed incrementally and are not documented as individual releases.
